Steel City Codes Pittsburgh is offering a free summer camp for students entering grades 4 to 8 during the 2025-2026 school year. Whether students are coding for the first time or building on existing skills, our experienced instructors help make computer science accessible, practical, and fun.

Students can choose from beginner, intermediate, and project-based courses in Python and Java.
Intro to Python
Recommended: Math Grade 4+
Learn coding basics like input, output, loops, logic, and more using beginner-friendly Python.
Intro to Java
Recommended: Math Grade 4+
Build a strong foundation in coding with variables, loops, logic, and core Java concepts.
Intermediate Python
Recommended: Math Grade 5+ or Intro to Python
Move faster through more advanced Python material and strengthen existing coding skills.
Intermediate Java
Recommended: Math Grade 6+ or Intro to Java
Continue learning Java with a faster-paced course built for students who know the basics.
Project-Based Python
Recommended: Math Grade 8+ or Intermediate Python
Apply Python skills to real projects, starting with short challenges and building toward a larger project.
Project-Based Java
Recommended: Math Grade 8+ or Intermediate Java
Apply Java skills to real projects, beginning with smaller builds and ending with a larger multi-day project.
